Mana is a nutritionally complete and modern alternative to traditional food intended for healthy adults, as well as children aged 3 and older. Mana can be consumed any time you need a healthy, convenient, and cost-effective meal. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.
For healthy adults, Mana is designed to be a full replacement for any and every meal. This means that you can live on a diet consisting exclusively of Mana, or simply use it to replace individual meals or snacks. How often you eat it is entirely up to you.
For children and adolescents between 3 and 18 years of age, Mana should not serve as a full diet replacement, but as an addition to a balanced diet. Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.
Mana is currently not intended for diagnostic or medicinal purposes. Although many of our customers have reported that Mana has helped them overcome health issues or dietary limitations, both serious and non-serious (e.g. food allergies/intolerance, diabetes), we strongly recommend consulting with a professional physician before consuming Mana during periods of illness or other health restrictions, pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Mana currently offers 2 core foods: ManaPowder (a nutritionally complete powder mixable with water) and ManaDrink (a ready-made, nutritionally complete drink). All foods on offer can be found here.
ManaPowder is a nutritionally complete, sustainable, and plant-based food powder that provides your body with all the nutrients it needs to be healthy. Our latest recipe contains our most varied spectrum of nutrients and natural ingredients to date. The powder is mixable with water for a full meal in 1 minute. The standard serving size delivers 400 calories and is the equivalent of 86 g/3 oz/2 Mana scoops/5 heaped tablespoons of powder + 300 ml/10 fl oz of water.
ManaDrink is a nutritionally complete, sustainable, and plant-based food in the form of a ready-made drink. The biggest advantage of this form of Mana is its convenience—it requires no preparation and does not need to be refrigerated. All you have to do is open and drink. Each 330 ml/11 fl oz bottle delivers 330 calories.
We also offer a number of accessories, such as the Starter Kit for ManaPowder, which includes a durable, Mana-branded bottle and stainless steel measuring scoop. The Starter Kit does not come with ManaPowder and must be ordered separately. For an updated list of all accessories on offer, see our accessory page.
Last but not least, we have recently completed development of the ManaBurger—a complete-nutrition plant burger patty intended as a full alternative to beef. Each serving (130 g/4.5 oz) delivers 300 calories and contains all vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients your body needs in balanced proportions. The ManaBurger is stored frozen. Once defrosted, it can be prepared on a pan, on a grill, or in the oven. More information can be found here.
Origin is our original and most popular flavor, and has a creamy and neutral taste. Some people compare it to lightly sweetened cake batter; others compare it to oatmeal. Though individual associations differ, there’s one thing we hear consistently: the taste gets better and better over time.
You can find our other powder and drink flavors here.
Do the drink and powder taste different? Yes, there is a slight variation in flavor caused by different production processes. The advantage of ManaPowder is that its consistency and portion size are fully adjustable. Some like it as a snack, some as a main meal; some like it thick, some like it thin. The advantage of ManaDrink is that you can literally just grab it and go. Regardless of form or preference, what matters most is that they both give your body all the nutrients it needs.
There is also a slight difference in the composition of the drink and powder. ManaPowder contains acacia and xanthan gum, which make it creamier. Acacia gum is a source of fiber. ManaDrink, on the other hand, contains a cellulose-based thickener. This is because its fiber content had to be adapted to ready-to-drink format. A serving of ManaDrink contains slightly less fiber than a serving of ManaPowder.
All flavors, especially Origin, can be combined with other ingredients. Your imagination is the limit, but we recommend trying them with fruit, vegetables, spices, coffee, or nut butters. For inspiration, you can check out our recipe page.
Preparation of ManaPowder is very simple. For a 400-calorie serving, just mix 86 g/3 oz of powder with 300 ml/10 fl oz of room-temperature or cold water. One Mana scoop is 43 g/1.5 oz, so 2 scoops will give you the exact amount you need for 1 serving. If you don’t have the Mana scoop, 5 heaped tablespoons is a good approximation.
These instructions are only for preparation of a standard serving. In practice, you can mix Mana according to your own caloric needs and consistency preferences. Complete mixing instructions can be found here. In the case of ManaDrink, all you have to do is shake, open, and drink.
Mana can be used to replace just one or two meals per day, or it can serve as a full replacement for your entire diet. If you decide to use it as a full replacement for your entire diet, the recommended daily intake of ManaPowder is 5 x 400 calories (1 whole pouch), while the recommended daily intake of ManaDrink is 6 bottles x 330 calories. These recommended daily intakes are based on the reference values for daily energy intake for the average adult, so we recommend adapting your intake to your own personal needs.
Once mixed with water, ManaPowder is intended for immediate consumption, though it can be kept for up to 24 hours in a sealed, refrigerated bottle. ManaDrink should be consumed immediately after opening.

Our Mark 6 recipe contains 4 new types of protein, for a total of 6 plant proteins. In addition to isolated soy protein and oat protein—the protein sources in our previous recipe—we have included isolated pea protein, rice protein, hemp protein, and algae protein. This combination of proteins has a richer amino acid spectrum, which is complete with all 9 essential amino acids in the ideal amounts. Each serving of ManaDrink and ManaPowder delivers 17 g and 21 g of protein, respectively, which promotes the growth and regeneration of muscles.
According to the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), the average daily protein requirement for adults is 0.66 g protein/kg body weight. The average adult should therefore consume at least 50 g of protein per day. A daily portion of Mana (5 servings of powder or 6 ManaDrinks) delivers twice as much!
Protein, carbs, and fat/lipids are the main macronutrients. The basis of these biopolymers is amino acids connected by peptide bonds. They support muscle growth and regeneration, facilitate transport of substances throughout the body, and are necessary for the synthesis of compounds with specific functions. They also serve as a source of energy.
The protein in Mana is a mixture of soy protein isolate, oat protein, pea protein isolate, brown rice protein, pumpkin protein, and algae protein. These are the richest and highest-quality sources of protein in the plant kingdom. They are easily digestible and deliver the full spectrum of amino acids, including all 9 essential amino acids. Essential amino acids cannot be synthesized by the body and therefore must be acquired from food.
Recent clinical studies indicate that soy protein is the best source of plant protein, second only to animal protein. Just like pea protein, rice protein, hemp protein, and the other proteins in Mana, it has a complete amino acid spectrum. The combination of these proteins delivers adequate bioavailability.
Complete Amino Acid Spectrum
The human body gets amino acids by digesting the protein we consume. Some amino acids can be synthesized by the body, while others cannot. The latter are essential, and therefore must be obtained through our diet. Essential amino acids include valine, leucine, isoleucine, threonine, methionine, lysine, phenylalanine, histidine, and tryptophan. Some amino acids are essential only during certain periods of psychological development. For example, a fast-growing body needs relatively high amounts of arginine and histidine. The body can partially synthesize these by itself, but not in the concentrations necessary. These 2 amino acids are therefore considered semi-essential.
A common concept in nutritional science is that of the “amino acid pool.” Our body needs amino acids to synthesize a wide variety of substances. For this reason, it must keep a pool or stock so that it can synthesize whatever is needed. But the pool is depleted fairly quickly, so it is essential to continuously replenish it, ideally with every meal. This is another major advantage of Mana, as every serving contains a sufficient amount of protein. Eating several protein-sufficient meals per day is better than consuming a large and sufficient amount of protein only once per day, e.g. for lunch.
For detailed information on the amounts of individual amino acids in a daily portion (5 servings) of ManaPowder, click here and scroll down. As you will see, the composition of Mana makes it an excellent source of protein that satisfies our physiological needs for all amino acids.
Soy and phytonutrients
Legumes (e.g. soybeans, peas) are not just an important source of protein, but of phytoestrogens, whose influence on hormonal balance is often subject to discussion. Yet recent research suggests that in healthy people, consuming foods rich in phytoestrogens does not disturb the natural balance of estrogens. Still, the soy and pea protein used in Mana is isolated using the latest technology, which reduces the concentration of phytoestrogens and other antinutrients in the final product by about 85%.

Fats, or lipids, are considered key nutrients that have significant effects on the human body. The plant oils in Mana are a rich source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, and phytonutrients such as phytosterols, which help lower blood cholesterol. They also contain vitamin K and carotenoids, which are precursors of vitamin A. Fatty acids from these lipids are a source of long-term energy and perform building functions within the body. Fat is generally a carrier of taste, which is one of the reasons why Mana is smooth and pleasant to the taste.
The fat in Mana comes from a select mixture of canola oil, algae oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, flaxseed oil, and oat oil, plus phospholipids from soy lecithin.
Omega-3s and omega-6s
Mana contains omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) and omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), both of which are essential fatty acids. These come from a unique blend of algae oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, and flaxseed oil. Furthermore, because Mana contains omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in a beneficial 2:1 ratio, the ALA it delivers can be converted by the body into other important omega-3 fatty acids, namely eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
Consumption of foods rich in EPA and DHA has been shown to have significant health benefits. Both of these fatty acids produce effective anti-inflammatory and protective substances, and contribute to the maintenance of proper heart function, while DHA contributes to proper brain function and healthy vision. ALA omega-3s help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
The composition of algae oil outmatches that of fish oil and is absolutely key to the achievement of nutritional complexity from exclusively plant sources. Moreover, unlike production of fish oil, production of microalgae oil does not kill animals. And since microalgae oil is produced under laboratory conditions, it contains no pollutants from the ocean.

The sources of carbohydrates in our Mark 6 recipe are oligosaccharides from corn, slow-absorbing saccharides from white sugar beets (isomaltulose), starches and other carbohydrates from oats, as well as carbohydrates and minority carbohydrates from soy, carrot fiber, hemp, peas, algae, and rice. Carbohydrates supply energy and, together with protein and fat, are essential for proper functioning of the human body. Above all, they are essential for brain and central nervous system function.
The main function of carbohydrates is to supply the body with energy. If energy is not supplied by this nutrient, the body must take it from other sources, first by breaking down fats, and then tissular proteins. Carbohydrates also serve as the building blocks for and help protect cells.
Starches, simple sugars, and even fiber are counted as carbohydrates. These are divided into monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, and complex carbohydrates in accordance with the number of sugar units they have. To be clear, from a legislative point of view, sugar compounds (monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides composed of carbohydrates) are considered “carbohydrates.” The term “sugar” refers only to simple carbohydrates. Plant sources of carbohydrates include oligosaccharides from corn, carbohydrates from oats, soybeans, carrot fiber, hemp, peas, algae, and rice.
The sources of carbohydrates in ManaPowder and ManaDrink are as follows:
- Maltodextrin from corn. An excellent source of oligosaccharides, which supply our body with quickly usable energy. It is composed of starches from various plant sources, but the main ones are corn, rice, wheat and potatoes. Our products contain maltodextrin with a low dextrose equivalent, i.e. with low monosaccharide content.
- Palatinose, i.e. isomaltulose. This is a disaccharide whose structure is made up of fructose and glucose. It is produced biotechnologically using microorganisms from white sugar beet and its advantage is that it is absorbed slowly. In Mana, we use isomaltulose instead of sugar, which reduces the increase in blood glucose levels after its consumption. It also reduces the risk of heart disease and diabetes. It has a mild, sweet taste and a low glycemic index of 32.
- Complex carbohydrates from oat fiber. Oat fiber contains soluble and insoluble complex carbohydrates with significant beta-glucan content, which helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
- Minor carbohydrates from soy, carrot fiber, hemp, peas, algae, and rice.
According to an original study we conducted in cooperation with Charles University and the Kralovske Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, ManaDrink can be considered a relatively low-carbohydrate food. The study also found that ManaDrink has a relatively low glycemic index (29) and insulin index (41), making it suitable for use by diabetics within a framework of complex dietary treatment. We believe the same is true of ManaPowder, given its nutritional composition is nearly identical to that of ManaDrink. Nevertheless, if you have diabetes, we recommend consulting with your doctor before using Mana. The results of the above study can be read here.
The pleasant and subtle sweetness of Mana is owing to sucralose, a sweetener. Although it is an artificial sweetener, sucralose is much safer and tastier than many natural sweeteners. And in combination with the other ingredients in Mana, it works perfectly. It is noncaloric and easily excreted from the body.
Detailed information on the carbohydrate content of ManaPowder Origin can be found here. Information on the carbohydrate content of ManaDrink Origin can be found here.

Our latest recipe of Mana contains 5 new types of fiber for a total of 8. In ManaPowder, these are: oat fiber with significant beta-glucan content, soluble chicory fiber (also known as inulin), carrot fiber, acacia gum, and fiber from hemp, peas, soy, and algae. The list is the same for ManaDrink, only it contains cellulose instead of acacia gum. Oat beta-glucans help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels, and inulin is considered an important prebiotic.
Fiber is an integral part of our diet and offers many health benefits. Soluble fiber, such as pectins and inulin, support the function and growth of friendly gut bacteria, strengthen the immune system, and aid digestion. Insoluble fiber, i.e. that which our bodies cannot absorb, such as cellulose and hemicellulose, aids the digestion of nutrients, regulates the absorption of fat, cleanses the intestines, and leaves us feeling satiated after eating.
For normal bowel function, the recommended daily intake of fiber is 25 g/day according to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). 5 servings of ManaPowder (a daily portion) delivers a total of 35 g of fiber, 20 g of which is soluble and 15 g of which is insoluble. 6 servings of ManaDrink (a daily portion) delivers a total of 26 g of fiber, 15 g of which is soluble and 11 g of which is insoluble.
The latest recipe of ManaPowder and ManaDrink contains the following 8 types of fiber:
- Oat fiber with beta-glucans. This helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Oats are also an excellent source of insoluble fiber, starch, protein, B vitamins, and minerals such as potassium and magnesium.
- Inulin. Soluble fiber from chicory root. An excellent probiotic.
- Carrot fiber, as well as fiber from hemp, peas, soy, and algae. These are sources of soluble fiber, insoluble fiber, protein, and other phytonutrients, in particular flavonoids (antioxidants).
- Additionally, ManaPowder contains acacia gum, a soluble fiber, while ManaDrink contains cellulose, an insoluble fiber that makes it creamy and smooth.
The fiber in Mana also plays a role in keeping its glycemic index (GI) down. More info on GI can be found the the "Carbohydrates" section above.
New users of Mana may experience mild indigestion or bloating due to its high fiber and protein content. It should take no more than a few days for your body to adjust to this type of highly nutritious food.

Mana contains a complete spectrum of 14 vitamins and 24 minerals, including B12, which plant foods often lack in sufficient amounts. Minerals occur naturally in our ingredients, but we have also added some to ensure proper amounts of essential nutrients.
Vitamins are biologically essential and active substances that the human body cannot synthesize by itself, and which therefore must be supplied through food. They function as biocatalysts and antioxidants, and play a role in the metabolism of protein, fat, and carbs, as well as the reabsorption of minerals. Every vitamin has an optimal intake for best body function.
Minerals are vital for proper function of the human body and, just like vitamins, must be consumed with food. They play a key role in metabolism, tissue construction, brain function, and muscle activity. Mana contains 17 essential minerals that your body needs for top performance. It also contains another 7 trace minerals, which occur naturally in its ingredients.
Of the 17 essential minerals in ManaDrink and ManaPowder, 3 are present in new, chelated forms, which are even more soluble. They are: magnesium (magnesium lactate), potassium (potassium citrate), and zinc (zinc gluconate). We also nearly doubled the amount of potassium for better heart health.
When combined with the other ingredients that make ManaPowder and ManaDrink a complete food, its essential vitamin and mineral content becomes a perfectly balanced multivitamin.
When taken together, the protein, carbs, and fat in Mana deliver a record 173 health benefits, in accordance with the scientific evaluations of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The complete list of vitamins and minerals in Mana can be found below.

Our staple flavor is creamy and neutral Origin, which we offer both as a powder and as a drink. Slightly oaty and subtly sweet, this was our first flavor, and is still our most popular. Some people compare it to lightly sweetened cake batter; others compare it to oatmeal. Though individual associations differ, there’s one thing we hear consistently: the taste gets better and better over time. Its "whitish" color is a natural result of the ingredients we use.
For our other flavors, see drinkmana.com.
Approximately 99.5% of the ingredients in ManaPowder and ManaDrink are natural. The remaining ingredients are perfectly safe, certified, and have a long history of use in food.
Mana is developed by a team of food scientists and organic chemists led by organic chemist Marek Humpl, M.A., who has written a blog on the subject of synthetic substances.
All of the foods we develop are and always will be free of GMOs and animal products. We think that plant foods are the way of the future, so animal products are an obvious no-go. And even if we wanted to use GMOs, which we don't, it would be very complicated due to the strict provisions contained in regulations No. 1829/2003 and 1830/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Mana is developed by a team of food scientists, chemists, and biochemists in Prague, Czech Republic. Its composition is based studies conducted by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the World Health Organization (WHO), 2 proprietary clinical studies, and experience in clinical medicine.
The 2 proprietary clinical studies concerned the glycemic and insulin indices of ManaDrink, and were conducted in cooperation with Charles University and the Kralovske Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. The studies found that ManaDrink has a relatively low glycemic index (29) and insulin index (41), making it suitable for use by diabetics within a framework of complex dietary treatment. We believe the same is true of ManaPowder, given its nutritional composition is nearly identical to that of ManaDrink. The results of these studies can be read here.
Not only is the composition of our products backed by hard data from clinical studies, every ingredient we use is thoroughly tested in our own and state-certified labs. This helps us select only those ingredients that have high nutritional content relative to their ecological footprint.
Consumption of Mana, thanks to its wide spectrum of nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, brings 173 benefits to your body and brain according to the scientific evaluations of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Here you can find the complete list of benefits Mana provides, including links to all supporting studies.
The ManaBurger is the world's first nutritionally complete plant burger and is a complete alternative to beef in terms of taste, texture, and juiciness. It is full of healthy nutrients, including 5 types of protein and a comprehensive spectrum of amino acids (including EPA and DHA omega-3s). Altogether, it contains 38 vitamins and minerals. It has no GMOs, gluten, or added glutamate, and is low in sodium.
The Mana Burger is a mix of 5 plant proteins (pea, rice, hemp, mung bean, and algae), 5 plant oils with DHA and EPA omega-3s (canola oil, sunflower oil, algae oil, coconut oil, and flaxseed oil), fiber, potato starch, vitamins and minerals, herbs, and spices. It is dyed with beetroot, paprika, and apple extract, and its natural, smoky aroma is reminiscent of wood from European forests.
The types of protein in the ManaBurger are pea protein isolate, algae protein, mung bean protein, hemp protein, and brown rice protein. Peas are extremely rich in protein and fiber, and the other proteins even out the amino acid spectrum to its physical optimum. One burger patty delivers 20 g of protein.
The ManaBurger contains omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA and DHA. This comes from a combination of canola oil, algae oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, and flaxseed oil. One patty delivers 22 g of fat, only 5 of which is saturated.
There are only 4.2 g of carbs in each ManaBurger, the source of which is potato starch. This makes it keto-friendly. The fiber in the burger from cellulose, peas, rice, hemp, and mung beans.
Vitamins and minerals naturally occur in the ingredients of the ManaBurger, but we also add them in order to make it a multivitamin in unconventional form. In total, the ManaBurger delivers 38 vitamins and minerals.
A complete list of ingredients and nutrition facts can be found here.
When we started to work on this project 5 years ago, we were sure of 1 thing: that through science and research, the flavor and texture of meat could be achieved using only plant ingredients. But in order to meet that goal, we had to develop a unique production process involving special machinery and sophisticated treatment of ingredients. The result is a firm consistency, without sacrificing on juiciness or taste.
The ManaBurger is designed to be almost indistinguishable from ground beef. Taste is of course subjective, but we have received excellent reviews from staff, customers, restaurants, and gastronomy experts, and have done hundreds of successful blind taste tests.
One ManaBurger (130 g/4.6 oz) delivers 300 calories and a sophisticated, balanced mixture of all essential nutrients. Adding other ingredients such as a bun, toppings, and sauces will of course increase calorie count.
Our burger is gluten-free. Though we do not put soy in the burger, it is made on the same production line as our other foods, and therefore may contain trace amounts of soy. We plan to improve our production as soon as possible so that we can offer a burger that is 100% allergen-free.
The ManaBurger is sold through our US eshop. It is currently only available in packages of 20, though we expect gradual availability of 4-packs at retail points. At the moment, delivery time depends on a number of factors, and we are currently serving an order queue. For details on the conditions of delivery to your location, please send an email to magic@drinkmana.com.
The ManaBurger is delivered in an insulated box with dry ice to ensure storage at the precise temperature. When handling dry ice, we recommend using gloves. Do not touch dry ice without gloves. We also recommend letting the dry ice evaporate in the insulated box before disposal (one or two days should be long enough). During this period, keep the insulated box with dry ice outside or in a well-ventilated area inaccessible to children and animals. We will always include instructions on the insulated box for how to handle the dry ice.
We will always send you the ManaBurger separately using a special service for delivery of frozen goods. Any other product you order will be sent using a standard courier.
For example, let's say you order 2 boxes of ManaPowder and 1 box of ManaBurgers. If you have a continental address, the boxes of ManaPowder will be shipped for free since their total price is over $120. The ManaBurgers will be shipped separately for a fee that will depend on where you live. They will also be delivered at a separate time, as we are currently serving an order queue. For details on the conditions of delivery of the ManaBurger to your location, please send an email to magic@drinkmana.com.
If stored at a temperature of -0.4°F, the ManaBurger will keep for one year from the date of manufacture. Prior to preparation it should be defrosted (ideally in the refrigerator), and should be kept cold until the moment it is cooked, just like meat. Defrosted ManaBurgers should be consumed within 48 hours.
Defrosted ManaBurgers can be cooked on a pan, in the oven, or on the grill. It can be cooked on oil, but we recommend cooking it without. Cook for 3 minutes on each side. When done, the outside surface of the burger patty should be crunchy and golden, and the inside should be juicy and pink. Serve warm.
Storage at -0.4°F will prevent the nutrient content of the burger from diminishing. Neither will heat diminish the important nutrient content of the burger, if prepared according to our instructions. The ManaBurger should only heated for a few minutes, which is not enough to reduce the amounts of vitamins and omega-3s therein. When developing the nutritional profile of the burger, we took into account the fact that it would be cooked for this amount of time.
Mana has been developing alternative, nutritionally complete foods with a view to sustainable crop production and environmental friendliness since 2014. As part of our mission to promote sustainability, we wanted to offer a plant-based alternative to an iconic food that is popular the whole world over. That's why we developed the ManaBurger, whose taste and structure are nearly indistinguishable from those of meat, but whose production processes are significantly more friendly to the planet. Production of the ManaBurger uses less than half the energy and 99% less water than its beef equivalent.
The ManaBurger is not a food intended for vegans only. On the contrary. It is an alternative for lovers of meat and beef burgers who want to eat healthier and more environmentally friendly.
The ManaBurger is an innovative product of the 21st century. In addition to its excellent taste and texture, it delivers 38 vitamins and minerals, 5 types of plant protein, healthy/unsaturated fats, an adequate amount of fiber, and phytonutrients with antioxidant properties. It is of course GMO-free, low-sodium, and completely plant-based. So, it couldn't be healthier!
Mana is a nutritionally complete and modern alternative to traditional food suitable for healthy adults, as well as children aged 3 and older. Mana can be consumed any time you need a healthy, convenient, and cost-effective meal. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.
For healthy adults, Mana is designed to be a full replacement for any or every meal.
Our Choco flavor is particularly popular among children and adolescents. Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.
Mana is currently not intended for diagnostic or medical purposes.
Mana can be safely consumed by children aged 3 and older. We recommend consulting a pediatrician or pharmacist before serving Mana to children under 3.
Optimal nutrition for children and adolescents
Children and adolescents in particular should be encouraged to eat a varied diet and eat regularly (at least 5 times per day). Their diets should be rich in protein, fiber, healthy fat, calcium, and vitamin D, which is important for proper bone development. They should also take in adequate amounts of other vitamins and minerals. Since their bodies are developing, it is essential that their diets are balanced.
Mana should not be a full substitute for a varied diet for this age group, but it may serve as a balanced replacement for fast food, vending machine food, or other sweets with added sugar. Our Choco flavor is especially appropriate for children and adolescents. Another advantage of Mana is that the quantity of nutrients in proportion to calorie intake is easily calculable.
Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.
Nutritional information on ManaPowder can be found here, while nutritional information on ManaDrink can be found here.
Our foods contain no animal products and are suitable for all healthy adult vegans. No milk, eggs, or other animal products are processed on our production line.
Because Mana is entirely plant-based, however, many customers have wondered where we get our vitamin B12. We can assure you that the B12 in Mana is not of animal origin; instead, it's produced biotechnically using a specific microorganism.
In general, ManaDrink and ManaPowder are suitable for all healthy adults and children aged 3 and over. Adolescents and children over 3 should adjust serving size in accordance with their body weight.
Because the nutritional needs of pregnant/breastfeeding women may vary (for example, the recommended daily intake of some vitamins or minerals may be higher than average), we strictly recommend consulting a professional physician before including Mana in your diet if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Diets based on foods with low glycemic/insulin indices and low carbohydrate content have been repeatedly demonstrated to help control diabetes and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications. The values of these indices are used to indicate the carbohydrate burden a given food has on our metabolism.
In cooperation with Charles University and the Kralovske Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, we carried out a clinical study on the glycemic/insulin indices of ManaDrink. The study found that ManaDrink has a relatively low glycemic index (29) and insulin index (41), as well as relatively low carbohydrate content, making it suitable for use by diabetics within a framework of complex dietary treatment. We believe the same is true of ManaPowder, given its nutritional composition is nearly identical to that of ManaDrink. The results of the study can be read here.
Despite the above, we recommend that diabetics consult a professional physician before including Mana in their diet.
You can present Mana's nutrition label to your doctor. The label for ManaPowder Origin can be found here, and the label for ManaDrink Origin can be found here.
Though uncommon, some consumers have reported bloating or irregular digestion when starting to use Mana. There can be many reasons for this, not all of which are related to Mana itself, but in some cases it can be because the body is not used to consuming protein and fiber in the amounts present in Mana.
If you plan on making Mana more than just a snack, we recommend gradually integrating it into your diet over the course of a week or so. For example, for the first 2 days, use Mana to replace just one meal per day. For the next 2 days, use it to replace 2 meals per day, and so on. In a week or so, any irregularities should subside.
Taking digestive enzymes when starting to consume Mana may be helpful, but whether or not they are will also depend on how big your portions are and how fast you drink them. We recommend sipping slowly.
If you have any doubts, or if difficulties persist, we recommend you stop consuming Mana and consult a physician. Feel free to provide them with the relevant nutrition label (found on our web page or section for each product). For example, the label for ManaPowder Origin can be found here.
You can lose, gain, or maintain weight with Mana just like with any other food. Follow these general rules:
The main advantage of Mana when doing any of these is the fact that it is simple to portion and its nutritional values are clear, so you can easily count calories and monitor your intake of individual nutrients. Serving sizes and/or number of servings should be adapted to your specific physical needs, as dictated by weight, height, gender, age, and lifestyle. Always keep in mind that Mana is a whole food, not a supplement.
Online calorie charts and calculators, mobile apps, and sports/smart watches can help you determine what daily energy intake is right for you.
Both ManaPowder and ManaDrink contain gluten and soy. One serving of ManaPowder contains 12 mg of gluten (in gliadin form), while one serving of ManaDrink contains 9 mg (also in gliadin form). The source of gluten in Mana is oat beta-glucans (fiber). The sources of soy in Mana are soy protein isolate and soy lecithin.
The ManaBurger does not contain gluten, though it may contain trace amounts of soy, as we produce it in a plant where other foods that contain soy are processed.
Our foods do not contain lactose or nuts.
Allergies to certain ingredients in food can be caused by cross-allergies, which arise from the similarity of allergens. Cross-allergies occur when antibodies from the immune system respond to another allergen based on amino acid sequence similarity. In other words, if you are allergic to a certain food, you may be allergic to another food that contains a similar allergen. For example, there is a very common cross-allergy among legumes, so if you have an allergic reaction to peanuts, there is a 5% chance that you will be allergic to another legume. Cross allergies also occur among apples, birch pollen, and carrots (Mana contains carrot fiber). So, if you are allergic to a food other than Mana, or pollen, or any other allergens, check our product label before consumption.

ManaPowder – Our powdered Mana is designed for travel! It's got a long shelf life, is lightweight, and doesn't need refrigeration. Just throw a pouch in your suitcase and go.
Whether or not it is possible to take Mana on a plane depends on the airline and destination country. It is possible that Mana may be removed from your baggage out of the ignorance of airport personnel, but we are unaware of our customers having any problems flying within the US or to Asia. Many customers have reported successful transport of ManaPowder by plane, including in hand luggage.
ManaDrink is not suitable for carry-on luggage. Most airlines prohibit the transport of liquids in quantities over 100 ml/3.4 fl oz in carry-on luggage (each bottle of our drink is 330 ml/11 fl oz).
In case of any questions, we recommend contacting the airline you'll be flying with or reading their guidelines for the transport of liquids. If you need, we can send you an official manufacturer's statement that Mana is food in powdered/drink form. Just email us at magic@drinkmana.com.
If the courier brought you a damaged package, you have every right to refuse to accept it.
If you notice damage to the package after you receive it, we recommend filing a complaint with the courier and contacting our customer support at magic@drinkmana.com.
If you find that the products inside the package are damaged (i.e. our products), please let us know. Rest assured that we'll make things right.
Please also contact us if the package contains products other than those ordered, or if something is missing. Despite the fact that we take maximum care when packing orders, mistakes can happen :)
ManaPowder, ManaDrink, and the ManaBurger are nutritionally complete, plant-based foods that give your body everything it needs to be healthy. They can be used to replace just one or two meals per day, or they can serve as full replacements for your entire diet.
If you plan on making Mana more than just a snack, we recommend gradually integrating it into your diet over the course of a week or so. Don't replace all meals at once. Your body might need a bit of time to get used to the high amounts of protein and fiber in Mana.
Try using Mana to replace just 1 meal per day for the first 2 days. Then for the next 2 days, use it to replace 2 meals per day, and so on. Your body may need at least a week to adjust. How long exactly will depend on several individual factors, but the primary one will be your previous eating habits.
ManaDrink is a ready-to-drink food that requires no preparation. All you have to do is shake, open, and drink. Each bottle counts as one serving and delivers 330 calories. Consume immediately after opening.
One standard serving of ManaPowder (400 calories) is 86 g/3 oz of powder mixed with 300 ml/10 fl oz of lukewarm or cold water. One Mana scoop is 200 calories/1.5 oz of powder, so 2 scoops is the exact measure you need for one serving. If you don't have the scoop, 5 heaped tablespoons is a good approximation. Though this is our standard serving, feel free to adjust portion size according to your caloric needs. Click here for a complete preparation guide.
To mix ManaPowder, used a sealed bottle or blender. Ideal for mixing is our Starter Kit, which includes the high-quality stainless steel Mana scoop and a 1-liter BPA/BPS-free Nalgene bottle.
Freshly mixed Mana is intended for immediate consumption, though it can keep for up to 24 hours in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator. If it is not possible to refrigerate your Mana after it's mixed, we recommend consuming it quickly. ManaPowder can also be used to bake cakes, pies, or other healthy dishes. But if you use it in this way, keep in mind that its nutritional and energy values may change.
Preparation of the ManaBurger is also easy. Once defrosted, burgers can be cooked on a pan, on a grill, or in the oven. Cooking oil can be used, but we recommend oil-free preparation. Cook each side for 3 minutes. The outside should be crunchy and golden, while the inside should be juicy and pink. Serve warm.
One ManaBurger patty delivers 300 calories and just 4 g of carbs. If you make a classic-style burger out of it (i.e. with a bun, sauce, and other toppings), you can expect the calorie count of the entire burger to be around 550-600.
If you decide to adopt an all-Mana diet, the recommended daily portion of ManaPowder is five 400-calories servings, while the recommended daily portion of ManaDrink is six 330-calorie bottles.
These amounts are based on the reference values for energy intake for the average adult (2,000 calories), so we recommend adjusting intake to your individual energy needs. In other words, your daily caloric intake should reflect your physiological needs as dictated by height, weight, age, level of physical activity, etc. You can find our portioning guide here.
How often you decide to consume Mana is purely up to you. You can use it to replace only one or two meals per day, or just use it when you're in a rush or don't feel like cooking. In short, Mana has been developed to be a complete food that can replace your entire diet, but which is also entirely suitable for less frequent use.
Mana should not be used as a complete diet replacement for children and adolescents, but rather as a nutritious snack. Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.
The ManaBurger can also be used as a complete diet replacement, but we don't imagine anyone would use it as such. It's purpose is to serve as a healthy alternative to traditional beef, even every day :)
ManaDrink and ManaPowder should be stored in a dark and dry place at a temperature of 50-77 °F. ManaDrink can also be stored in the refrigerator, but this is not necessary.
Thanks to high-tech packaging and natural antioxidants, ManaDrink keeps for 8 months from the date of manufacture and ManaPowder keeps for 18 months from the date of manufacture.
Once opened, the shelf life of a pouch of ManaPowder is 1 month. After every use, the pouches should be sealed using the ziplock. In case of the Family Pack, we recommend transferring the contents to airtight containers and storing in the dark after opening. This will extent the shelf life of the powder to 6 months from the date of opening.
Mana is a food with a minimum shelf life. In general, it is possible to consume foods after the expiration of their minimum shelf life, with the caveat that the amounts of some nutrients may be diminished. Expired foods may be perfectly fine for consumption if their storage instructions have been followed and if their sensory properties have not been compromised (i.e. taste and smell).
Combination with other foods
Mana is a complete food that has been developed to stand alone as a complete diet. Nevertheless, all flavours of powder and drink, especially Origin, can be combined with other ingredients (e.g. fruits, vegetables, spices, coffee, nut butters, etc.). If you want to use Mana to make healthy and tasty smoothies, your only limit is your imagination. For inspiration, head over to our recipe page.
Combination with supplements
If you decide to combine Mana with dietary supplements, be sure not to exceed the recommended daily nutrient intake. For example, long-term excessive protein intake can burden the liver and kidneys. Detailed information about the nutrients in ManaPowder Origin can be found here. Detailed information about the nutrients in all other products can be found here.
If in doubt about how to properly combine Mana with nutritional supplements, we recommend consulting a dietician or nutritionist.
ManaDrink is sold in Tetra Pak drink cartons. Thanks to this, it doesn't contain any artificial preservatives, yet will remain stable in an aseptic environment for a period of 8 months from the date of manufacture (without refrigeration). Each box contains 12 servings of ManaDrink (12 x 330 calories). The dimensions of the box are 9.6 x 7.5 x 5.9 in and the weight is 10 lbs.
ManaPowder is packed in PET/ALU/PE pouches, which can be counted as plastic. This packaging protects the powder from moisture, light, oxygen, microorganisms, and other factors that may diminish its nutritional value. Assuming proper storage, the minimum shelf life of ManaPowder is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
One box of powder contains 7 pouches, which are made primarily of recycled paper. In each pouch is 5 servings (5 x 400 calories), for a total of 35 servings per box. The dimensions of the box are 9.8 in x 7.3 in x 10 in and the weight is 7,7 lbs.
Our frozen ManaBurger comes packed in food-grade PE (polyethylene) foil, which is then packed in a paper box. One box contains 20 ManaBurgers in two packages of 10. A frozen ManaBurger has a minimum shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture. the dimensions of the box are 8.3 x 8.3 x 4.3 cm.
